NIMC Passes ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification Surveillance Audit

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has successfully passed another ISO surveillance audit.

The pass was disclosed by the British Standard Institute (BSI), during the closing ceremony of the ISO 27001 surveillance audit after the independent external audit was carried out at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) headquarters from 9th to 11th of April 2018.

The Commission has successfully passed 3 surveillance audits (2015, 2016, and 2018), with 1 recertification (2017), as it requires renewal every 3 years, and undergoes an annual surveillance audit to maintain the standard.

BSI commended the staff of NIMC for their commitment to the Information Security Management System (ISMS), and noted there was an improvement from his last visit.

The Director General, NIMC, Engr. Aliyu Aziz emphasized the Commission’s commitment to security of information and data privacy, thus NIMC’s adherence to the set standards that led to obtaining the highest global industry standards for information security; ISO/IEC 27001:2013.
