New Immigration Comptroller Receives National E-Id Card
The Comptroller General Nigeria Immigration Service, Martin Kure Abeshi, was presented with his National e-ID Card yesterday at the NIS Headquarters, Abuja. The card presentation was done when the DG/CEO NIMC, Chris Onyemenam, paid a courtesy call on the Comptroller.
The visit was to familiarise with the new Comptroller and to extend the Commission’s appreciation to the Immigration Service for the continuous support and value they have provided to NIMC over the years.
Mr Abashi was impressed with the card design and functions and assured NIMC of further support.
The Nigeria Immigration Service plays a vital role in the enrolment process of citizens and legal residents into the national database. The partnership between the two strategic government agencies ensures the participation of the Immigration service by the placement of their officers in all NIMC enrolment centres, to check matters relating to nationality and immigration status of prospective NIN enrollers.
