Prof. Aderounmu noted that the NCS look forward to collaborate with NIMC to deliver on the NIMS project “as a stronger partnership will help build an inclusive, globally competitive and prosperous Nigeria that would be the envy of other African nations.”
In his remarks, he said: “We look forward to a strategic partnership with the Commission in the establishment and maintenance of permanent, mobile and temporary enrolment Centers for primary data capture and data updating in NCS house in Lagos”
“NCS will also partner NIMC on research and development, harmonisation of biometrics database, data security, big data management, Information Technology advocacy, etc.” he added.
He went further to appreciate the Director General and the entire staff of the Commission, for the historic role in using information technology to develop the nation.
The Director General, Chief Executive Officer, NIMC, Chris Onyemenam, in his response, expressed readiness to support IT professionalisation in the Nigerian civil service. “It is interesting to note that there is now an IT related body in government establishment which is readily eager to partner NIMC on the NIMS. I want to believe that will lead to perhaps, the professionalization of IT in the civil service and that will be extremely welcomed.”
The NIMC boss went on to reiterate the commission’s commitment to revitalize their relationship with NCS, and help support/improve academic performances in Nigerian Universities.
He added: “Thank you very much for stretching the hands of collaboration. On behalf of the commission, I commit to ensure that we rebuild the relationship and partner positively.”
